Barry sargent
Born in Cincinnati (USA), the city where he began his musical studies with Sigmund Effron. At the age of 15 he performed as a soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the following year with the Columbus Symphony. Follow your studies with Andor Toth in Oberlin Conservatory where the degree ends with "High Honors". Later he moved his residence to Paris to expand his violinistic knowledge under the direction of Gerard Poulet. In this same city, he came into contact with the cellist Christophe Coin, who invited him to play with the Ensemble Mosaïque, encouraging him to investigate and perform with historical instruments. Since then he has been concertmaster of prestigious baroque ensembles; in France with Les Arts Florissants, Les Talents Liriques, Seminario Musicale, in the Netherlands with the Bach Vereinigen, in Italy with Promo Musica, in Germany with the Kölner Academie and concertmaster-director of the Concerto Köln. He has also collaborated with Frans Brüggen, Ton Koopman, Jordi Savall, Christopher Hogwood and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
In Spain, where you reside currently, he has been first violin of Al Ayre Español, concertmaster guest of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, the Extremadura Orchestra, the Euskadi Syphonic Orchestra, the Navarra Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria. His work as a director has been extensive in Spain. He has been the founder and director of three orchestras: the Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, the Camerata Sa Nostra and the Orquesta Barroca de Mallorca. He has conducted the Philharmonic Orchestra de Gran Canaria, the Orquestra de Granollers, the Illa de Menorca Orchestra, the Granada City Orchestra, the Orquestra de Cambra Terrassa 48, the Jove de Catalunya and the Young Baroque of Andalusia. He is currently the director of l'Ensemble Tramuntana.
Mayumi Sargent
Born in Mallorca, she studied violin with Ramón Andreu and Barry Sargent, besides attending David Peralta’s summer course in 2007. She continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Cologne, Germany) with a Bachelor on the modern violin under Ariadne Daskalakis's tutelage while receiving baroque violin lessons from Richard Gwilt. She graduated with a “Cum Laude'' from the Master’s Instrument in Historic Perspective at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (Netherlands), where she studied baroque violin with Antoinette Lohmann and modern violin with Johannes Leertouwer.
She’s been invited to play in youth orchestras around Spain, such as Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya, Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Castelló, Jove Orquestra Barroca de Mallorca and Jove Orquestra de Cambra Illa de Menorca.As a young professional, she’s performed in Germany with the Kölner Kammerorchester, Neuen Rheinischen Kammerorchester Köln, Kölner Akademie, Orchester Düsseldorfer Altstadtherbst and for the contemporary composers collective Zeitklang, besides gaining seven years of experience as a pedagoge. She’s currently a member of the EOS Kammerorchester; specialized in contemporary music, they work with known Jazz
musicians, such as Niels Klein, Ingrid Laubrock and Lucia Cadotsch, recording new CD’s with music written exclusively for the ensemble. On the opposite spectrum, in May 2021 she’ll be performing with Concerto Köln.
In the Netherlands she’s a member of the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht (both with original and modern instruments, besides participating in innovating projects such as historically informed performances of Brahms symphonies), a member of the Spanish baroque music group La Pícara and co-founder of PuraCorda (a string quartet specialized in HIP interpretation of 19th and early 20th century repertoire). She plays regularly with the Nederlandse BachVereniging and has had the pleasure to work as concertmaster under the baton of Jos Van Veldhoven and Peter Van Heyghen. She’s recently had the privilege of performing Verklärte Nacht (Schönberg) on gut strings with the Narratio Quartet for the opening concert of the 10th European Early Music Academy in Vannes (France) and recording the solo “Gebt mir meinem Jesum wieder” of the Matthew Passions Ur-version under Johannes Leertouwer’s leadership.
In Spain she has played with Orquestra de Cambra Illa de Menorca, has been invited as coach to the Joven Orquesta Barroca de Andalucía, and besides co-organizing two different music festivals and a youth competition in Mallorca, she’s co-founder and concertmaster of Ensemble Tramuntana.
Enric Pastor
Classically trained violinist. In the year 2000 he started in the Jazz studio with the guitarist Martin Negro and in the World Music, from then on he joined different groups of different styles. Groups such as: Jaume Compte and nafas ensemble (World Music) with which he has recorded the albums "Ale" "Tariq" and "Voda"; Martin Black and Palma ensemble (tango-jazz) with which he has recorded the album "Fiebre Mallorquina"; Pilgrims Bluegrass formation with which he has recorded the album "Pilgrims bluegrass"; Ice ax swing (Jazz Manouche). He is a violin teacher at the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of Mallorca.
Sureymis Mercedes Tapanes Santana
At the age of 8 he began his studies as a cellist at the "Alfonso Pérez Isaac" School of Art in the Province of Matanzas, Cuba, with the teacher Felipa Moncada and Ileana Moliner, since its inception he has participated in several provincial and national competitions ranking among the first prizes. In 1998 he graduated from the National School of Art with the teacher Wladimir Drobache; during that period he joined the Havana Youth Symphony Orchestra and also collaborated with other chamber groups such as the “Camerata Romeu”, “Amadeo Roldán”, “Manuel Samuel”, among others ....
In 2000 he was part of the old music group “Ars Longa” from Havana, playing the viola da gamba and the violone with which he participated in numerous national concerts and tours of various countries such as Germany, Spain, Portugal and France, where he shared the stage. with prestigious musicians like Joseph Cabrè, Gabriel Garrido, Shalev AD-El, Fiume Terakao, Walter Reiter. He graduated from the ISA in (2003) and participated in the Sarrebourg Festival of the Chemins du Baroque (France) and the Gesualdo Da Venosa Festival (Italy) under the direction of the late maestro Claudio Abbado and Claudio Dall'Albero. He has made musical recordings such as "Cantus in Honore Beate Virginis Mariae" - Stefano Chambers, "Gaspar Fernàndez", "Passio Domini Nostri Jesu Christi" - Esteban Salas with label K617 (France). In 2005, after passing through Valencia, he taught at various music academies and continues to work as an instrumentalist in various Ensembles.
In 2010 he settled in Italy and began to work with the Popular School of Music of Torino, in addition to the Italian System of Cori e Orchester giovanili e infantili founded by Claudio Abbado, which was inspired by the great project of the Venezuelan Maestro José Antonio Abreu and perfecting the musical didactic teaching in training courses taught by excellent teachers such as Susan Siman, among others.
In 2013 he made the admission to the First Level Master in "Operatore musicale per orchester infantili e giovanili" of the Italian System at the University of Florence Studies and at the Fiesole School of Music, earning said scholarship and graduating with the maximum of points in March 2015. He perfected his studies of baroque cello with maestro Gaetano Nasillo at the Novara Conservatory "Guido Cantelli".
He continues to play in various groups and orchestras "'Orchestra Barocca di Biella", "Duo Contrasto", "L'orchestra sinfonica d'Asti", "Quartetto Venus" and "i Cameristi del Verbano" composed by the vast majority of dell musicians 'Orchestra Sinfonica della Rai as Alessandro Mancuso, Fabio Storino, Rodolfo Girelli, Silvio Albesiano, Antonello Molteni).
Pablo Moreno
He began his music studies in the double bass specialty in 1998, at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, with Professor Hugo Valero Muñoz, ending the year 2007, at the age of 19 years. From 2002 to 2007, he was a regular member of the Murici Region Youth Orchestra, receiving classes from teachers such as: Miguel Franco, Rustem Gabdullin, Nazaret Kiourchian, Frano Kakarigi, Tashkent Tashev, among others; and participating in all the activities and concerts held by it in different locations in Spain and Europe; and in the USA as a collaborator of this orchestra in 2009, with concerts at the Lincoln Center (New York), and McCormick Place (Chicago). He has participated in different music events and festivals and young orchestras, such as the Press Joven de Lucena (Córdoba) directed by James Ross in 2003; and the International Festival of Youth Orchestras (FIOJ), in Murcia.
In 2007 he began his studies at the Reina Sofía Chair of Double Bass for Superior Music Listening, with professors Duncan Mctier and Antonio García Araque. In this institution he received master classes in double bass from Professors Slawomir Grenda and Janne Saksala. He has also received chamber music master classes given by teachers: we say Poppen, Radovan Vlatkovic, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Stefan Schilli, Klaus Thuneman and Natalia Gutman. Member of the Sony Chamber Orchestra and the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra from 2007 to 2009, he has worked with conductors such as: Stefan Lano, Antoni Ros Marbá, Zubin Mehta, Zoltán Kocsis, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Péter Csaba; performing concerts in different auditoriums and theaters in Spain and France, and participating in the Santander Music and Academy Meeting in 2008 and 2009. Since 2009 he continues his music studies at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Murcia and later finishing the Conservatory of Music and Dance of the Balearic Islands, until 2015 with Professor Francesc Aguiló.
He has collaborated professionally with the Murcia Region Symphony Orchestra, the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, the Illa de Menorca Chamber Orchestra, the Mallorca Chamber Orchestra and from its formation to this date, with the Ensemble Tramuntana, a group led by the violinist. He has been part of various musical bands such as the Big jazz band from Palma, jazztà (record recorded at the "VIII festival de Palma"), Orquesta de Son Amar, Ossifar (records "Da-li cebes", "Ossifar en directe" i "A pixar ia jeure") and Cologne Syndicate where they have performed in England, Italy and Russia),
He has recorded CDs with Mallorcan artists Llorenç Santamaria i Tomeu Penya (Disc, "Amb una aclucada d 'ull").
